Cobalt stearate, also known as octadecanoic cobalt, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C36H70CoO4, and its CAS number is 13586-84-0. Its foreign name is Cobalt stearate. The physical properties include purple granules or small spherical solids, with a density of 1.13 g/mL at 25℃, a melting point of 73-75℃, a boiling point of 359.4℃, a flash point of 162.4℃, and it is soluble in ether but insoluble in water. This compound is mainly used as a heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride, a pigment stabilizer for ceramics, an organic synthesis oxidation catalyst, and an active drying agent for coatings. It is widely used in the production of radial tires, steel wire conveyor belts, and metal rubber composite products. The synthesis methods include the precipitation reaction of sodium stearate with cobalt chloride solution, and the double decomposition reaction after the soap solution is made from stearic acid and sodium hydroxide. Storage should be sealed and placed in a cool and dry environment (2-8℃).
Use: bonding promoter for rubber wire radial tires, rubber and steel wire copper coating, galvanized curtain line.
