Properties

The appearance is white or off-white powder. The melting point is 90℃, the density is 1.07 g/cm³. It is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone and benzene, slightly soluble in gasoline, and insoluble in water. It is prepared industrially through methods such as the reaction of phthalimide with cyclohexyl sulfonyl chloride.

Storage Recommendations

Store CTP in single stacked pallets in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, avoiding exposure of the packaged product to direct sunlight.

Application

This product is an extremely effective anti-coking agent. It has a good anti-coking effect on all sulfurized diene rubbers and low unsaturation rubbers, such as natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, butyl rubber, chloroprene rubber, isoprene rubber, cis-butadiene rubber, and ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber, etc. Moreover, when used in combination with other rubber additives, its activity is not affected. There are no adverse effects such as foaming or pollution. It can significantly improve the storage stability of the rubber compound and prevent natural vulcanization during storage. Compared with previous anti-coking agents, it has better effects, lower usage amounts, and the usual dosage is 0.1-0.5 parts.
It is mainly applied in the rubber processing field and is suitable for vulcanization systems of natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, etc. As a anti-coking agent, this compound can effectively prevent the early vulcanization (coking) of the rubber mixture during storage or processing, improve processing safety, and has no negative impact on the vulcanization speed and the performance of rubber products. It is widely used in the production of rubber products such as tires and seals.
