Physiological properties see safety data sheet

Mechanism of action

Thanks to its low solubility, H654 Rubber Protective Wax migrates toward the surface of vulcanizates to develop a continuous protective film stable across a temperature range of ‑10 °C to approximately 50 °C. This protective film forms at a moderate‑fast rate and delivers outstanding resistance to dynamic stress. As Microwax H654 migrates, it transports antiozonants and antioxidants to the vulcanizate surface.

Fabrication

Its flake‑shaped format facilitates weighing and incorporation into rubber compounds. For optimal dispersion, Microwax H654 should be charged at the very start of the mixing cycle. The mixing temperature needs to be kept above the melting point of this anti‑caking wax.

Loading

For tire applications, the dosage ranges from 1‑4 phr. For other rubber formulations, the loading can go up to 10 phr, subject to the specific compound type.

Application

product-437-437

Suitable end‑uses include tyres, conveyor belts, cable sheaths, alongside technical moulded and extruded rubber components such as profiles intended for elevated‑temperature service conditions. H654 Rubber Protective Wax complies with test requirements under ozone‑chamber testing at approximately 45 °C. Improved protective performance can be achieved by blending it with lower‑melting‑point microwax variants.

Package

20kgs/bags

Storage

Stability 3 years, if stored at temperatures not exceeding 35 °C; at higher temperatures caking may occur. This, however, has no effect on the performance.

FAQ

Q1: What is the core protective advantage of Microwax H654 compared with ordinary rubber protective wax?

Microwax H654 is a compound of fully refined paraffin wax and medium-wide MWD microwax. Different from ordinary single-component protective waxes, it has low solubility in rubber vulcanizates, enabling it to stably migrate to the rubber surface to form a continuous and uniform protective film. It provides excellent dynamic stress resistance and stable anti-aging performance within the temperature range of -10°C to 50°C, effectively solving rubber cracking problems caused by ozone erosion and outdoor weathering.

Q2: Why is H654 suitable for rubber products working under elevated temperature conditions?

H654 has a congealing point of 61-67°C and passes professional ozone chamber tests at 45°C. Its stable protective film will not fail or decompose under medium and high-temperature service environments. It is specially optimized for high-temperature working rubber products such as tires, conveyor belts, cable sheaths, and molded/extruded rubber profiles, maintaining long-term anti-crack and anti-ozone protection for end products.

Q3: How to improve the anti-ozone protective performance of H654 further?

The protective effect of Microwax H654 can be significantly upgraded by blending with low melting point microwax grades. The compound formula can complement the temperature resistance and migration performance of different waxes, extend the protection cycle, and enhance the weathering resistance of rubber products in complex outdoor environments.
