Preparation Methods Of Butadiene-Pyridine Latex

May 17, 2026 Leave a message

Butadiene-pyridine latex is produced by emulsion polymerization of butadiene, styrene, and 2-vinylpyridine. In addition, technologies employing low-temperature polymerization, mixed emulsion systems, and continuous soap addition have also been successfully developed.

Regarding process optimization, the Institute of Physics and Chemistry in Japan has successfully developed a new synthesis process for butadiene-pyridine latex, which can reduce production costs by half.

One of the key raw materials for preparing butadiene-pyridine latex is 2-vinylpyridine. By expanding the capacity of the 2-vinylpyridine production unit, such as replacing the mixing tank and condensation tank from 4 m³ to 7 m³, the yield per batch can be increased, thereby improving the overall production capacity of butadiene-pyridine latex.
