Physical and chemical properties

The molecular formula of rubber-grade zinc oxide is ZnO, with a molecular weight of 81.39. Its appearance is white or slightly yellow powder, with a density of 5.606 and a melting point of 1975℃. It is a bidentate oxide, soluble in acids and bases, and insoluble in water or ethanol. It turns yellow at high temperatures and returns to white upon cooling.

Application

As an activator in the rubber vulcanization process, it accelerates the rate of the vulcanization reaction and improves the degree of cross - linking and mechanical properties (such as strength and elasticity) of rubber products. In rubber products such as tires, hoses, and seals, it improves wear resistance and aging resistance. Used in combination with stearic acid to optimize the efficiency of the vulcanization system.
