Rubber accelerator DBTU is used as a vulcanizing agent for natural rubber, butyl rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and chloroprene rubber. It can accelerate the low-temperature vulcanization process of chloroprene rubber and also has the function of ozone protection. The physical properties of the applied products are stable and are suitable for wires, industrial products, and sponge products.

This compound is obtained by reacting n-butylamine with carbon disulfide at 30℃ and then heating and decomposing. It should be stored in a cool and ventilated place and isolated from oxidants. The MSDS indicates that its acute toxicity (oral) is at level 4, skin sensitivity is at level 1, and the hazard symbols include R20/21/22 and R22.

White powder. The density is 1.32. A little bitter, flammability, almost no poison. Soluble in alcohol, diethyl ether, acetone, cyclohexanone, tetrohydrofuran, partly soluble in all PVC plasticizers, insoluble in water and CS2 soluble in alkali solutions and precipitation from acid solutions.

Medium-speed vulcanization accelerator. Synergises with sulfur donor to boost vulcanization when used in NR and SBR. Need zinc oxide to be effective. Used as secondary accelerator in CR vulcanization and EPDR vulcanization system. Used in latex products, cables and general industrial products. It is critical temperature is 80oC, so could be used as raw materials for pharmatical and dye and the test reagent for Os and Rh.
