Properties
Slightly foul odor and bitter taste, nonpoisonous. Soluble in ethyl acetone, acetone, dilute solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, ethyl alcohol. Not easily soluble in benzene.Insoluble in water and gasoline.
Application
Rubber Accelerator MBT (M) is suitable for Natural Rubber (NR), Isoprene Rubber (IR), Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR), Nitrile Rubber (NBR), High cis Polybutadiene Rubber (BR/HR), and EPDM compounds.
As one of the most widely used acidic primary accelerators, MBT provides a medium-fast curing rate, excellent processing performance, and good aging resistance. It can be used alone or in combination with secondary accelerators such as MBTS (DM), TMTD (TT), and other basic accelerators to achieve faster vulcanization and improved physical properties.
MBT has a slight tendency to scorch, so appropriate processing conditions should be maintained during compounding. It is not recommended for applications involving food contact materials.
MBT is widely used in the production of tires, inner tubes, rubber footwear, conveyor belts, transmission belts, industrial hoses, molded rubber goods, and various technical rubber products.

Storage
Keep container tightly closed in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, avoiding exposure of the packaged product to direct sunlight.
