Pre-dispersion Rubber Peptizer Masterbatches DBD-40

DBD-40 is a pre-dispersed rubber peptizer masterbatch with 40% active ingredient: 2,2'-dithiobisbenzanilide (DBD). The rest 60% is rubber carrier and dispersing auxiliary. It is an eco-friendly chemical peptizer, designed to reduce Mooney viscosity during rubber mastication. It works by breaking rubber molecular chains at high mixing temperature, shortening mastication time and cutting energy consumption. As a safe alternative to traditional pentachlorothiophenol peptizers, DBD-40 complies with REACH regulation. It is widely used in natural rubber and diene-based synthetic rubber. The button-shaped granule form eliminates dust and supports automatic weighing on rubber mixing lines.

DBD-40 performs well under temperature range 80~160℃, best added at the initial stage of mixing. It can effectively prevent re-combination of broken rubber molecular free radicals, maintain stable plasticity of masticated rubber. No blooming on finished rubber parts, no negative impact on rubber aging property. Good compatibility with NR, SBR, BR, IR. Insoluble in water; soluble in benzene, acetone and ethanol. Non-staining to rubber products.

Store in cool, dry, clean and well-ventilated warehouse, keep away from direct sunlight, heat source and moisture.

Keep bags tightly sealed when not in use.

Do not stack with strong oxidants.

1. What storage conditions will cause performance degradation of DBD-40?

Long-term storage under high temperature, high humidity or direct sunlight will accelerate aging of rubber carrier inside the masterbatch, leading to higher Mooney viscosity and worse dispersion performance. Keep sealed and avoid contact with strong oxidants. Shelf life is 12 months under proper storage.

2. Can DBD-40 be used in masterbatch production for color rubber compounds?

Yes. DBD-40 is non-staining and suitable for black and colored rubber compounds. Conduct small batch lab test first for bright-colored formulations to confirm color stability.
