Types of Rubber Vulcanizing Agents

There are many types of rubber vulcanizing agents. Based on their chemical composition and mechanism of action, they can be divided into two main categories: inorganic vulcanizing agents and organic vulcanizing agents. Inorganic vulcanizing agents, such as sulfur, were the earliest used vulcanizing agents. They have the advantages of low cost and wide availability, and are widely used in the vulcanization of various general-purpose rubbers. Organic vulcanizing agents, such as peroxides, thiurams, and thiazoles, are widely used in the production of high-performance rubber products because they provide superior vulcanization effects and specific physical properties.
