Chloroprene adhesives were among the first synthetic rubber adhesives to achieve industrial-scale production, dating back to the late 1930s when they were successfully developed by DuPont. The technology's maturity level has consistently remained at 95.00%, indicating its considerable maturity.
Patent development in the field of chloroprene adhesives shows an increase from 554 applications in 2013 to 1478 in 2023, with a high grant rate, reaching 81% in 2020. Currently, important research institutions include the School of Materials Science and Engineering at South China University of Technology and the Xi'an Institute of Modern Chemistry.
